• About me
• Emily was born in China in 1979 and moved to Hong Kong in 1986. She studied art education at the Hong Kong Institute of Education and worked as an art teacher after obtaining the certificate of education in 2002. In 2007, she graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, major in oil painting and minor in printmaking. Her works are mainly mixed media painting and prints.
  

• Artist statement
• Although I am keen of detail depiction, I chose to wipe out all the faces and bodies of my subjects through coloring them in flat black. Apart from figure sizes these characterless humans differs in the way they dress or ornate; they are either positioned in a nihilistic exterior or situated in the vicinity of certain objects to reveal their helpless conditions.
